About Wheat in China

Recently, i do a market research for wheat, and the main wheat growing areas worldwide: China, India, United States, Canada, Australia, Argentina, Brazil and South Africa.

In China, wheat is usually classified as follows:

1. In accordance with the grain color:
Red Wheat: dark red or reddish-brown
White Wheat: white-yellow or milky yellow

2. By the grain quality:
Hard Wheat: endosperm structure is dense and translucent
Soft Wheat: endosperm structure is soft, feels like the plaster

3. By planting season:
Spring Wheat: sown in spring, harvested in summer or autumn
Winter Wheat: sown in autumn or winter, harvested the following spring



Features of Wheat in China:
In China, wheat is mainly the medium to hard varieties and use flour mill to make panned bread, flat bread and noodles.
Red wheat is the most common spring wheat, while white wheat is used as winter wheat.
